Today something a little random happened, I won't go into too much detail but it was one of those situations where you get reassured of the power of God. Don't get me wrong, my faith is strong so I didn't 'need' this reassurance, but after this event happened I couldn't help but think about all the different times that God has come through for me in the last year alone; there where times I had n o t h i n g and unbelievable miracles would just drop before my eyes..

It led me to think, at times even though you have limited resources and there is only so much that you can do, you have to say your prayers and put yourself
o u t   t h e r e.

Almost 95% of the time in these situations, the only way I managed to receive these blessings is by getting up and putting myself out there. Sorry to break it to you but it's very unlikely that new opportunities, blessings and miracles are going to come and find you in your bed, your room or even your email inbox without doing a bit of rummaging yourself.

Sometimes you will have to strategically position yourself to make certain things happen, hunt them down. For example if you want to network and create connections with creatives, hang around the places they like to chill, eat at the places they eat; where do they go on their lunch breaks? Find these things out and 'magically' place yourself there. Keep doing this, certain faces will become familiar and sooner or later what you're looking for will come and find you.
(of course you can apply this to different goals and situations)

Unfortunately not everyone has the same opportunities, the same contacts, the same networks, but don't let this hold you back. You just have to become a go-getter. Don't let your mentality keep you stagnant; acknowledge where you're at, what you don't have, but then ask and figure out how to get those things you don't have. Have a positive outlook that you will find/attain those things you don't have; put good vibes out there and they will come bouncing right back.

In life you have to use a combination of working hard and working smart, find the perfect optimum point and you will be amazed at the great things you will achieve. This approach is what got me my 1st class degree in Economics and even an award for excellence to 'decorate my degree' lol. If I'm honest there were times I did not take my degree seriously and skipped several lectures and slept through many more..

It was working smart with a combination of working very hard that got me those results. You have to pick and choose what you will put majority if not all of your energy into; it doesn't make sense for you to revise certain topics inside out for an exam, when your lecturer has told you that topic will not be included, surely it is more efficient to spend that time revising those that will be included right? That's an example of working smart.

Over the next few weeks I will be applying this same mentality and work ethic I had at uni in order to achieve the goals I have set for myself. For example I'm giving up the late nights to wake up much earlier because I find that my productivity levels are much higher in the morning then they are later in the evening.

Another example is living 'poor' for a short period of time; cooking in bulk, walking and catching the bus instead of train and uber, no eating out etc, in order to save and accumulate as much money as possible for something else.. such as a holiday, or a new camera etc. Doing this gets you to your goal quicker and you learn very important survival skills and beauty of self-control.

Hope you enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts and experiences.
